I have designed and delivered a range of public/stakeholder engagement events and initatives, and responded to various policy consultations.
Some examples are given below.
2011/12 A founder member of Bangor University’s Science Outreach committee, I collaborated with colleagues to produce a science outreach strategy for Bangor University and to develop in-house resourcing of this strategy through setting up and maintaining a “wiki”.
2011 Community, Environment and Sustainability in Wales Organised a networking event bringing together grassroots activists, NGOs, policy makers and academics with interests in local community sustainability and environmental campaigns.
2011 Participation Cymru As part of a two day capacity building event, I provided a panel on the policy topic of ‘Behaviour Change’ to enable knowledge transfer between policymakers, academics and practitioners.
2010 Health Impact Assessment of proposed biomass plant, Llangefni, Anglesey. In collaboration with Public Health Wales and the Environment Agency and a number of stakeholders including local people and the proposed plant operators, I faciliated in the delivery of a Health Impact Assessment of the proposals.
2008 Sustainable Development Commission I provided an in-depth briefing to the SDC on the sustainable development implications of synthetic biology and Converging Technologies
